My oldest daughter is just four years old. Even though she can’t legally drive where we live for another twelve and a half years she’s already telling me what color car she wants. I can feel her pain and anxiety. I used to hate the fact that we have age limits on things like driving a car, voting for president or drinking alcohol.
Now that I’m an adult I see things much differently. Not only do I agree that there needs to be age restrictions on driving a car or drinking alcohol but also on a host of additional actions. As far as voting for president, I’m pretty sure that’s fixed anyway so why not let anyone who can push a button cast their vote?
“Care to make a wager?” I said this to a friend during a discussion we were having. He quickly responded that, he was sure that I knew he wasn’t a gambling man. His answer completely took me by surprise. I was utterly stumped. Here was a man, I thought, who reaps the benefits of a democratic, capitalist society and he was saying that he did not gamble.
So, I inquired, “What is gambling?”
“I just don’t bet and stuff like that,” he responded.

All is not well in the murky world of Harry Potter. Just as the fate of the Horux is released on the world of Muggles, the pages of the nation’s newspapers are as much alive with news about Harry as the Daily Prophet and like the plot of the book, dark and sinister forces are at work.

On a recent walk I had a remarkable opportunity to experience a deeper level of the truth behind the phrase, “pain is inevitable - suffering is optional.” Heading out on a warm summer afternoon, a steady breeze kept the temperature from becoming unbearable.

The older I get, the more magical and mystical and perfectly purposeful life seems to me, so I have no doubt at this point in time that we die when we are meant to die. And right now, we are all going through a metaphorical death and rebirth process, whether we like it or not.
The geocosmic backdrop leaves no doubt that we are in significant and transitional times which are leaving most with their head spinning. There is no going back. We are moving into a new reality heralded by Pluto on the Galactic Center, the new “Platonic Year”, Uranus recently shifting into Pisces, Pluto moving into Capricorn at the beginning of next year, (while in opposition to Mars for those two months) and Neptune moving into Pisces at the beginning of the year 2012, at the end of the Mayan calendar.
Pianos are one of those musical instruments that can be rightly termed as classy. With a great historical background to its name, pianos form the soul of western music, preferably for solo performances, chamber music, and accompaniment. Not withstanding their huge size and expense, pianos lend an amazing aid for rehearsals and music compositions. The universal popularity of pianos makes us wonder about some of the unique facts that have not yet been brought to limelight.
