As a result of my involvement with the passage of HB 1660 here in Pennsylvania, I have learned many things.
The burden that the health insurance companies place on employers is one of them.
The fact that in five years, if Single Payer is not enacted, employees will have to foot the bill for their own health care coverage, is another.

In fact, I have no intention of supporting him whatsoever. I’ve been holding my nose for the Republican presidential candidates since I was old enough to vote, and I haven’t seen much of a return on my support. Up to now, they’ve been lackluster at best. This year, the Republicans managed to nominate the only human being that could make me look back on either of the Bushes or Bob Dole and say “I wish our nominee was one of them instead”.

The phenomenon of “greenwash” can be viewed from various angles. TerraChoice’s “Six Sins of Greenwashing” have become widely circulated and well known. Additionally, three variations on its definition in increasing order of severity are useful”Greenwashing is the unjustified appropriation of environmental virtue by a company … to create a pro-environmental image, sell a product or a policy, or to try and rehabilitate their standing with the public and decision makers after being embroiled in controversy” (SourceWatch Encyclopedia). However for a richer understanding of the issues at play it is necessary to consider the direction in which “greenwash” may be heading.
