This provided a nice layer of much needed security, but it also made the memory used go up substantially. Now, any computer running Windows XP and Service Pack 2 at the same time needs much more RAM.
Hopefully at this point you have decided to add RAM to your computer! RAM is easy to locate both in stores and on your motherboard. I would disregard the MS website when it refers to the amount of RAM you really need. Just remember that when running both Windows XP and Service Pack 2 together you will need at least 512 MEG’s of RAM to keep your PC running smooth.
When you do your RAM upgrade just remember it is a very easy thing to do on your own. Even the beginner computer user can do this. Afterward you will be justly rewarded with a computer that is much faster than the way it was prior to doing the upgrade. When spending money on upgrades, using the RAM upgrade option will give you the best value for your dollar.
