institution. The University is located on 161 picturesque acres in a
residential community on the Southside of Chicago.
Bowie State University is located in the heart of the Washington-Baltimore-Annapolis region, Bowie State. Bowie State University has started its service in 1865. The University’s student-faculty ratio is a low 15:1. The faculties are highly qualified, with 92% of full-time professors holding at least a master’s degree and 64% holding PhDs. The National Science Foundation recognized the strength of the University’s science, engineering, and mathematics programs. Bowie State University is one of six Historically Black Universities to be chosen as a Model Institution of Excellence. Research at the University is supported by such advanced facilities as supercomputer and a NASA satellite operations control center.The main mission or goal of Bowie State University is to accept diversity. The University gives all the up to date information about the technologies. It also gives access to the growing knowledge to the students through its library and computer labs. It makes all the students intelligent and prepared by giving information about the changing world. The university helps students to improve their knowledge and thus raises the world.The Bowie State University includes all the facilities for the students of the university. The University has good communication department and a computer lab. The lab gives access to the faculty and to the students. The University also has a good library which helps in the references for faculty , staff and students of the university. The name of library is Thurgood Marshall Library. The library has a good variety of collections. The library provides access to its collection through the USMAI electronic catalog. The catalog links users to materials in all the University System of Maryland libraries.
