Panic attacks have become very common with over 20 million people who suffer from them in the United States alone. Living in our stressful society, we are constantly thrown into stress inducing situations. But what really causes panic attacks and anxiety disorder?

While Panic Attacks are often considered a purely mental condition, scientific research has shown that there is a genetic side to panic attacks. That means that if a member of your family suffers from panic attacks or an anxiety disorder, you are more likely than others to experience the same to a certain degree. Of course, it doesn’t mean that it will happen, only that you have to be on your guard.

Of course, the causes of panic attacks are as diverse as the people who find themselves afflicted by them. What you have to realize is that it’s day to day occurrences which bring about panic attacks and anxiety disorder. If you too suffer from panic and anxiety, or have a phobia which you find hard to shake off, you should know that you are not alone. There are many treatments available to you.
