The Internet serves as a very popular cyber marketplace, and this has been proven with the popularity of today’s EBay services and other auction sites. Almost anyone can sell anything on EBay – from your sister (Bonnebell lip glosses, perhaps?) to your old driving instructor (we’re guessing that he’s the one peddling all those unique-smelling car fresheners). If you yourself have not been making quite a sale in a long time, here are four ways to get your items moving in no time:
Choose an appropriate time to sell your goodies. Group your items according to seasons. Let’s say you have a box full of silly strings and piles of white blankets you do not use. Try to sell those items during Halloween, as people will instantly have a use for it as costumes and tools for trick or treating.
Go over each item carefully and repair, repaint or replace parts that are nonworking or defective. Maybe the reason why your first seller didn’t come back for a second sale is because you sold him a faulty item. Keep your items in top-notch condition or at the very least, be honest about the defects.
Pull down your prices to attract more bids. People are more drawn to cheap items and this ensures healthy competition until one eventually wins the bid. Ideally, you start the bidding at around 10% lower to make room for competition. Also mark your items with a SALE tag to attract auctioneers and make them want to get first dibs on your items.
Lastly, don’t forget to advertise your items. Posting your items on EBay is not enough because with every minute someone posts a newer item and yours gets pushed more and more towards the backburner. Keep your items up to date and make sure to renew expired bids. Advertising can also be done for free by posting it on your blogs and your friends’ websites. Try to attract more bidders by letting them know that you exist.
