The various leagues in the world have become a source of revenue generation for countries that knows how to manage the organization of such leagues. The fact that billions of dollars can be generated from this leagues has also brought in the use of television and satellite means of broadcasting to different part of the world.
This has created more awareness for the followers of the game and has also increase the addiction of people to the round leather game. This fans, therefore, has three basic sides and I choose to call them the good, the bad and the ugly sides of football fans in the world. We are all witness to how football supporters have greatly contributed to the development of the game, as a matter of fact, we now have organized forms of supporters club, duly registered by the government and guided by rules and regulation.
The existence of supporters in the game of football has succeeded in generating great income for all the countries that have been opportuned to host any of the competitions involving football. Many countries have hosted the world cup have not only been able to improve the facilities in the country, but they have also been able to generate in come not only from gate takings but also from the various tourist locations visited by the football fans who came into the country for the game. Even the aviation industry cannot be left out, since people will have to move from one country to another. Employment have been created by this and for some, football has become a money spinning venture, this is just to mention a few of the advantages of football fans.
Mentioning the good side of anything simply suggest that there must also be the negative or bad side to such a thing but imagine a situation were football fans will travel all the way to watch
We are even now getting to the influence this fans have on the players. Football must be watched and watching football brings in money, therefore the players must live up to expectation and justify the huge amount paid on them during transfers, hence the awareness of the large fan base of a team, pushes the players into desperation and issues of the use drugs arises. Though football and footballers have tried, in the sense that the scandal of drug use being experience in athletes, in such games as the sprint and also weight lifting, swimming and cycling suggested that footballers have been much more discipline than the other athlete, but for how long will this continue or last? With more money in football, there will always be the risk of capacity management, therefore anything can or should be expected from player trying to live up to their fool capacity.
The ugly part of football can be traced to situation were many football fans can go to the extent of beating up Coaches of their team(s), whenever they loose a game. Many football fans have also lost their lives due to attack on rival fans. Imagine an argument between an Arsenal FC fan and a rival fan, and the Arsenal fan, stab the rival fan on the head just narrowly missing the eye and the brain cavity of this fans (this happened in Nigeria). Remember the death of many fans in various stadia of the world with the collapse of structures due to the over admission of fans into those stadia, well these are issues in football, that cannot be neglected.
But even with all these issues, football or soccer can never, ever loose its flavour and will always loved then nobody should deny us the joy of supporting the greatest game in the world. Even with these three sides football is still the greatest game.
