Nfl Season 2007

It does not seem possible the NFL season is upon us. It seems like the draft was just here! After the excitement with the Saints last year and the pomp and circumstance around their performance, what does the NFL have up their sleeve for this year?

The really great thing about Football is the parody. Trust me, I am a Cleveland Browns fan and I have to count on parody! A team can go from being absolutely miserable one year to making the playoffs the following year. You do not even have to have a great draft to make a charge during a given season.

We all do things in life that we later regret. More often than not; it involves pairing off with a tubster after a heavy night on the ale; or ‘Lenny Henry syndrome’ as it’s known on the street.

I am particularly ashamed of my behaviour while on a family holiday in Greece. The hotel manager struggled to understand the wife’s thick Glaswegian accent, and jumped to the conclusion that she was mentally challenged. I should really have set him straight, but a good parking space is hard to find.

Does the media really over due the coverage the give to black athletes who have trouble with the law or their private lives? Does the media over due the coverage they give to black athletes in sports? Why does the media not give both sides of these athletes and all athletes? Covering a story about high profile athletes in some kind of trouble media outlets should give not always just the bad side of this story. What have these athletes done to help their sport? What do these athletes do in their community to help children that look up to black athletes today?

I’m all for good-natured banter at a football match, but supporters are beginning to overstep the line. Harry Redknapp commands respect from all the major players in the game, such as Frank Lampard and Jamie Redknapp, yet the colourful manager endured a torrent of vitriolic abuse when Portsmouth traveled to Aston Villa.

As the match slipped away from the Villans, the Holte End outrageously suggested that Harry had bunged the referee. That accusation is entirely without foundation: Harry prefers goods inwards to dispatch.
