Some very interesting economic papers have been written on the subject of Iranian manipulations on crude oil markets and the effect this might have on the United States economic global power house. Other interesting articles have appeared in the Economist and other well respected economic journals suggest that moving crude oil to be traded in the Euros instead of dollars might send a crushing blow to the economic stability in America
In actuality and economically speaking the numbers our Online Think Tank recently ran on this issue seem to indicate that the US economy and dollar can easily survive, with only a small temporary hardship of about a couple of months, which would raise the costs of fuel in the United States. But also the world economic heavy weight academic thinkers must also realize that such a move would affect the consumers of fuel. The citizens of the US might get so angry with higher oil prices that they may indeed support a large scale war with Iran and continued funding against the fight on International Terrorism that Iran is sponsoring, thus this might be a very unwise choice for those who truly wish to have peace. In fact, we were shocked by the findings ourselves, not the economic findings but rather the surveys of citizens. We figured the potential economic crisis was over stated and a bit of propaganda, but we were blown away at the furious nature of consumers when faced with higher oil prices, thus Iran should consider this as a politically suicidal move. Time will tell.
